School Council

Rossmar School Council

Meets at 1pm every second Monday

on Zoom
with Mr McNeill

Rossmar School Council is made up of pupils from both the secondary and primary departments of our school who are voted in by their peers. Pupils decide in September if they would like to be on the school council. Each class then holds hustings during which pupils give a short presentation stating why they should be voted in. Elections then take place in the assembly hall involving voting cards, ballot papers and the ballot box. This gives pupils a feel for what taking part in a real election is like.

Our Councillors for the 2020-2021 year are as follows:

KS3A - Niamh

KS3B - Brodie

KS3C - Zack

KS3D - Sophie

KS4A - Christopher

KS4B - Niamh

KS4C - Daniel

H1 - Odhran

H2 - Adam

H3 - Michael

School Council Elections 2020/2021

Christmas Foodbank

The School Council have been collecting food and other household necessities for the local Limavady Foodbank in the run up to Christmas. We have been blown away by the generosity of the school community and would like to thank everyone who donated to the cause.

Well done to our School council on the magnificent achievement of leading our school in becoming the first special school and one of only four schools in total in N. Ireland to receive the Investors in Pupils award. Thanks to all the teachers, classroom assistants, staff, principal and vice principal, parents, governors and all members of the Rossmar School community who helped the school to get this award.

Our school received an excellent assessment report which can be read in full on our Investors in Pupils page @ https://www.rossmar.co.uk/investors-in-pupils-award/ . Here are some of the highlights
