The aim of accreditation in Horizons is to equip pupils with the necessary skills and qualifications that will enable each individual to access the best post school option for themselves. There are two main routes in Horizons, one which is targeted at pupils wishing to achieve accreditation in Entry Level Essential Skills Literacy and Numeracy and the other which is based on meeting the sensory needs of pupils. Both routes allow pupils to develop essential life skills. 

Accreditation in Horizons is student led in the sense that the courses offered and the level of study undertaken are very much dependent on student interest and ability.
