Rebound Therapy Room

Rebound therapy is a term used to describe 'the use of trampolines in providing opportunities for movement, therapeutic exercise and recreation for people across the whole spectrum of special needs.' So it is with a great sense of pride and excitement that we can say our new school boasts a brand-new state of the art Rebound Therapy room - A facility we didn't enjoy before.

The room was constructed following consultation with Rebound Therapy UK who advised on the features the room should have. We are pleased to say the room has been designed to these high standards.  Several staff who work with pupils from all key stages have been trained in Rebound Therapy to Level 2 and will oversee therapy going forward in our new fantastic facility.  This ensures that our pupils will receive this training with familiar staff with whom they are familiar and comfortable with.

Technology and Design Room

The new and improved Technology and Design rooms are fully equipped with the latest machinery. We have a top of the range 3D printer and Laser Cutter in our new systems room, which we cannot wait to use to produce some fantastic designs and projects. The new room is more spacious allowing the department to be able to cater for larger group based projects, the store room is has twice the capacity to store materials to provide a wide range of projects for our young learners to engage with. We now have a fully dedicated systems and planning room which will give our young learners access to computer automated design and a place for them to put their ideas on to paper. This room can also be used as a fully functional ICT suit to provide many school courses a place to access a wide range of software to complete assignments and coursework.

Music Room

We are absolutely delighted to have a specialist room dedicated to Music! It is really well equipped with a Recording Studio, Practice Room, spacious Classroom and Instrument Store. It is great to have this super space for Music Therapy, Musical Pathways, Choir, Music Lessons, etc and we look forward to get to grips with the Recording Studio.

Gym

Keeping fit and healthy is so important for our body and mind. Our over-16 pupils have access to our new state of the art gym which boasts all the latest in fitness equipment such as treadmills, spin bikes, rowing machines, dumbbells and cable machine. Having this brilliant facility in our new school means:

  • We can learn healthy lifestyle habits
  • It offers us an opportunity to get active
  • Allows students to de-stress
  • Exercise is proven to help focus our attention

Soft Play

Our new bright and colourful soft play room gives pupils the opportunity to play freely. Free playing is an integral aspect of development since children can have fun, relax and learn several important skills at the same time. The soft play equipment gives pupils the opportunity to have fun with their playmates, helping them develop their language, skills and imagination. Children get the chance to interact with their peers, letting them build friendships. Free playing also builds on brain development and better functionality as well as developing gross motor skills. Our soft play room provides children with space where they can be active while being in a clean, safe and colourful environment. Our indoor soft play room has a slide, ball pit, bridge and activity boards to keep pupils engaged.

Art Room

The Art room is located within the same area as the other specialist classrooms within our new school building, and is adjacent to the ICT suite for ease of use.  It is fully kitted out with a wide range of Art resources, and we even have our own kiln on site!

Art is a subject that is accessible to all, and we look forward to the pupils getting great enjoyment from the use of the beautiful bright and spacious room.  An emphasis is placed upon child-centred learning, with the pupils being encouraged to develop their artistic skills via the use of various media.  The children of Art at Rossmar aims to engage, inspire and challenge the pupils to develop their understanding and ability, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to experiment, explore and create their own masterpieces.
