Monthly Message in a Minute from the Western Digital Safeguarding Steering Group- Get Smart about P.L.A.Y.

Research shows that even though over half of parents/carers say they are concerned about the amount of time their children spend playing games, most don’t use parental controls. These controls can help with the worries parents have about screen time, spending money and age-appropriate content.

The UK Interactive Entertainment Association (Ukie) recently launched a Get Smart About P.L.A.Y campaign to encourage more parents and carers to use tools available such as-

·         Managing screen time (e.g. having built-in time limits)

·         Managing in-game purchases

If you would like to know more about the world of gaming and how to help the children and young people in your home play safely, click on the picture below.  You will find out more and get access to step-by-step video guides for setting up parental controls on the consoles you have in your home.

Ask About Games will also give you great ideas for enjoying games in your home.
